What is CoolSculpting and how will it help me?

November 19, 2018 Tags:

One of our November specials is a coolsculpting treatment starting as low as $2300.

This is exciting but perhaps you've always wondered how you could benefit from a coolsculpting treatment.

In this post, we'll give you the 411 on what coolsculpting is, what you can expect during and after the procedure plus the results you can expect from getting a treatment.

What is coolsculpting?

You've been working out and eating right and have lot weight in all the right places. However, there are just parts of your body where the fat is not budging in spite of all your efforts.

This is where coolsculpting comes in handy.

A more fancy name for coolsculpting is cryolipolysis which basically means ìfreezing fat so it breaks off.

Fat cells tend to freeze at much higher temperatures as compared to your skin and muscle cells.

When you come into our office, we will use a device over those stubborn fat areas. The device will freeze the fat cells at a temperature of between 5 and -11 degrees Celsius (between 12 and 41 Fahrenheit) in these areas. The cold will break the fat cells under your skin so that you can be rid of them.

Coolsculpting is not surgical, is non-invasive and requires very little recovery time.

So far, research suggests that the results of coolsculpting can last for up to an average of four months

The procedure takes between 30 and 60 minutes depending on which part of the body you want to target.

According to a recent review that looked at 319 patients who had received treatments, coolsculpting can reduce body fat in targeted areas by as much as 20%. And that has been enough for people to be satisfied with the results.

Coolsculpting treatments are FDA-cleared.

What to expect after coolsculpting

What should you expect after the procedure?

You might experience some swelling and numbness after the procedure. That can be easily resolved by taking over-the-counter painkillers like Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

Over the following weeks, you can expect your body to begin to flush out those broken down fat cells primarily through your urine.

During this time, it might be helpful to drink more water to help your body flush out those fat cells even better.

If you're looking for a non-invasive way to get rid of stubborn fat that has limited side effects, coolsculpting is something you might want to discuss with us.

Give us a call at 281-333-DERM(3376) and let's discuss your options.
